We have a great reputation for serving up fantastic coffee with great customer service in both of our coffee shops and we want our workplace to be just the same, with staff who enjoy the job they do.

We have regular customers along with new people finding us through recommendations from others all the time. Our customers tell us that one of the big reasons they return so often is due to the atmosphere, friendly welcome and attentiveness they receive from the team, so the candidate must be a happy and friendly team member, with customer service at their heart.
You will take pride in your work and will understand that a trip to the coffee shop isn’t just about finding a great cup of coffee, or slice of cake, it’s about the whole experience. Customers should walk away having enjoyed every aspect of the visit, wanting to return again, and this should stem from you and your team.
Full Job Description
We are looking for a barista with ideally a years experience, but training will be give to the right candidate.
Being a Barista isn’t all just smashing out great shots and amazing latte art (although that’s a large part of it!), it’s about providing excellent customer service and ensuring everyone who walks in the door feels comfortable and welcomed.
Who we’re looking for
Members of the Kudos team should be friendly, confident and personable. Above all, you must provide outstanding customer service. As well as keeping the shop clean and tidy at all times, it is just as important that the team are clean and organised. You are literally the face of the business, so your appearance, your attitude and your behaviour must be of the highest standard at all times.
Kudos is not just about great tasting coffee, it’s about a fantastic experience. Customers should feel like part of the family and enjoy their whole visit from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave. It will be your job to ensure that happens.
As a barista you will be required to ensure that the coffee tastes outstanding all the time and be knowledgeable on brew methods, flavours and all drink types.
Duties will include
- Welcoming customers and taking orders
- Dialling in the coffee throughout the day
- Preparing and serving food and drinks
- Running table service
- Clearing of tables and general cleaning
- Helping set up/close down at beginning/end of day
Pay
£8.00 – £11.00 per hour, depending on age and experience
Experience
Hospitality : 1 year (preferred)
Barista: 1 year1 (Not essential – Training can be given)

Final thoughts
There will be the opportunity to further your barista skills, whilst completing both internal training and trips to our roasters, The Roasting Party, in Winchester.
