Selection of teapigs tea

Teas to help you relax and unwind

Caffeinated coffee (we do de-caff too!) helps give you that boost you need to kick-start your day, and can often be the fuel you need to carry you through.

Teas and herbal teas on the other hand, can be exactly what you need to help you relax and unwind. Take a look below to see our selection of teas from teapigs, to have in or take away.

But first, why teapigs?

We offer a selection of teapigs teas simply because it’s real quality tea. They use whole leaf tea, and whole ingredients like flowers and berries for a truly quality flavour and product.

When you compare a teapigs temple to another brand, the chances are you will see large pieces of tea leaves in a teapigs temple, and dust in the other brand.

Just like our coffee and food, it is vital to us that you have great products served to you whilst visiting Kudos Coffee.

Another big part of choosing teapigs is their efforts for sustainability and the environment. The temples used are made from corn starch which makes them biodegradable and means you can put them in your waste bin with no worries.

Not only that, but their packaging is compostable too, using natureflex (a wood pulp) for the clear inner bags, and FSC certified recyclable cardboard for the outer packet.

What is Tea?

So what is there to know about tea?  First of all, all tea comes from one plant, Camellia Sinensis. Repeat after me, Ca-Me-Llia Si-Nen-Sis.

Whether it’s white, black, green or Oolong (that’s fun to say), they all come from the same plant. It’s the process after the leaves are picked and rolled that makes them different.

Black tea is left to oxidise, leaving it strong, which is why some people prefer to have it with milk.

Green tea is steamed, which stops the oxidisation process, leaving it lighter and no need for milk.

White is even lighter, and is due to them not being rolled after picking, just left to dry naturally. This gives it a nice delicate taste.

Oolong, sometimes called blue tea, is inbetween black and white, and is part-oxidised. This gives it some of the strength of black tea and the freshness of green. Both Oolong and white are better without milk.

Then we move on to herbal teas. Did you know that herbal teas are technically not tea, due to not containing the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant? They are infusions, and this makes many of them a good naturally caffeine free choice.

Peppermint Leaves

Fresh peppermint leaves are the perfect way to wake you up in the morning and have an enormous amount of other benefits too.

Peppermint tea helps soothes your stomach, reduces stress and benefits your well-being and health.  It’s one of our favourites.

Super Fruit

The super fruit tea is packed with real berries and hibiscus flowers, producing a deep red colour and leaving a slightly tart taste.

It’s naturally caffeine free, so this fruity tea can surely help you relax. Try it with a squeeze of honey for a sweeter taste.

Matcha Green Tea

If you enjoy regular green tea, we are sure you’ll enjoy matcha green tea which has a similar taste but with added benefits.

Matcha is a fine green powder ground from green tea, and is integral to Japanese culture.

It not only contains a huge amount of antioxidants which help support your immune system, it helps boost your energy levels and soothes too.

Mao Feng Green

Have you tried our Mao Feng Green tea before? If you like a summer, light fresh green tea then this could be the tea for you. It’s not as ‘earthy’ as regular green tea, so the taste is slightly different. If you’d like to give this a go, just pop into Kudos Coffee .

Rooibos and Honeybush

This naturally caffeine-free tea, is a mix between classic Rooibos tea and Honeybush tea which both originate from the South African region. Alongside helping you relax, this blend helps boost your metabolism, detoxifies and improves your immune system.

Lemon and Ginger

This is one of the best teas for anyone with a common cold, or those wanting to get back to feeling 100% again! It’s packed with refreshing lemon peel, lemongrass, ginger and liquorice root.

If you love your lemon and ginger tea with fresh slice of lemon like we do – just let one of our lovely baristas at Kudos Coffee know

Everyday Brew

Cuppa Rosy Lee? Sometimes, you just need a classic everyday cuppa and a slice of cake in true British style. Many would say this is the perfect way to relax, and we cannot disagree.

Earl Grey Strong

Teapigs describe this as “an earl grey with wallop” because it combines strong black tea with Darjeeling and bergamot. They also recommend drinking this with a slice of lemon (no milk).

Like many of our teas, it’s packed with antioxidants and helps combat stress, supporting you both mentally and physically.
